In the Texas Shelter :(
Welcome to my blog! I am going to be posting in my blog until the time comes when I go to my forever home! And that is going to be a little while because I have heartworms right now, and have started the treatment process.
But we will get to that later, in an upcoming post. This first post is about the very first chapter in my story, when I was in the shelter in Texas (well, the very first chapter my foster mom knows about). Here are some pictures of me when I was there at the shelter. I was so, so sad. Don't I look sad?? My Texas family had dumped me there. They didn't want me anymore. They dumped me at a shelter with a reputation of killing quite a few dogs and cats. They didn't care if the shelter had to kill me. I was dirty and depressed and scared and in need of medical care. But, most of all, I was in need of love.
Luckily, my Blind Dog Rescue foster mom in Virginia saw an email with the two pictures of me on the red towel, and she decided, just based on these two pictures and a very small bit of information, that she wanted to have me as a foster dog. Somehow, just by looking at my pictures, she could see what a terrific, very special dog I am!
So, some local rescue folks in Texas got me out of the shelter, and I went to an amazing temporary foster home with my amazing Texas foster mom, Nicki. Nicki got me cleaned up and took care of some medical problems, and then got me ready for a big trip half way across the country, to my BDRA foster home in Virginia.
And that is where I am now! In Virginia!
My life is only going to be getting better and better! So please check back here about once a week. I will be giving you updates in my blog about things like my heartworm treatment, and my life here at the foster home with four other dogs, a scrappy cat, and my two foster parents, and all the other things that go on in the life of a terrific, very special dog. Me! :)
